Two new laser ablation systems introduced
(Omaha, NE) – August 25, 2011
CETAC Technologies and Photon Machines unveiled two new laser ablation systems last week in Prague, Czech Republic.
The new Analyte Excite is a 193nm wavelength system offering all the functionality and performance of an Excimer based system at a price point below other commercially available 193nm systems. John Roy, President of Photon Machines, says “Excimer laser ablation is the most versatile and precise solid sampling tool available other than ion microprobes and possibly femtosecond laser ablation. It is the clear choice of users over 213 nm YAG systems, but beyond the financial means of many researchers, until the introduction of the Excite.” The Analyte Excite offers the same ultra-short pulse length excimer laser as the acclaimed Analyte G2, spot sizes from 3 um, high definition viewing, powerful software, and one or two-volume fast washout sample cells for excellent spatial resolution.
The LSX-266 was also introduced on the new, robust LSX G2 platform. The updated instrument now features the same high definition viewing, improved illumination and software features of the LSX-213 G2 introduced earlier this year. An open architecture design allows customers to use an optional, enlarged travel stage and a variety of sample cells. The LSX-266 is an affordable, yet fully featured solid sampling system primarily for customers performing bulk analysis.
